Kyrstie Mann -Managing Director

“After 12+ years of teaching and 3+ years of management within specialist education, I love working with the students and am so happy to be able to bring this provision to life.  As much as I love teaching, I now concentrate on the quality of provision as a whole, student experience and working to bring as much as possible to our setting. I want to enable our students to become as confident and independent as they can be”.

Kyrstie is PGCE qualified, holds a BA (Hons) degree in Business & Management, a Level 3 Assessors Award and Level 4 Quality Assurance qualification and has over 15 years experience in education. She is responsible for Curriculum development, Quality of Teaching, Learning & Assessment, Business Development and more. In addition she also possesses a Level 5 SEND Diploma but still learns something new from the students every day.

Vikki Edge – Operations Manager & Deputy Safeguarding Lead

“After working for a local college for over 10 years, I am all about the students.  I will help and support them to do anything they want to do.  I don’t see any reason why everyone can’t try something new and am glad to be here to offer this. I teach lots of PSHE modules as well as Vocational and Independent Living which is crucial for Preparing for Adulthood”.

Vikki Edge, 2021

Vikki has a large breadth of experience to share with our students. She is a qualified hairdresser and nail technician. In addition to this, she has also worked in supported living environments, young people’s housing, drug and alcohol abuse and early mothers accommodation. Vikki holds a Level 5 Diploma in Teaching & Education and is Level 3 qualified learning support practitioner. Vikki is our Deputy Safeguarding Lead and First Aider. She has also completed training in Epilepsy, Diabetes, Visual impairments, after working with Exeter School for the Blind, Safeguarding and Prevent and is our Mental Health First Aider.

Mike Clarke – Work Experience & Community Projects Co-Ordinator

Mike is joining us to build on our amazing relationships we currently have with employers as well as creating some new connections.

In addition to his role with Learn 2 Cornwall, Mike has his own business, Empowered People Thrive, where he offers training and coaching. He is also a Director of Support, Empower, Transform (SET) which is a support group for senior managers who just want to be themselves rather than constantly network. He is also an Apprenticeship assessor for other training providers.

Mike is a qualified teacher and is very much looking forward to getting stuck back into education but this time with different students. Mike can also be seen supporting our students too in order to ensure he sees first hand what they can achieve.

Joining L2C, Mike is so excited to see what changes can be made to encourage our learners to be the best they can be.

Pam Rozentals – Bespoke Tutor

Pam joins us to work 1:1 with a young lady where she does a mixture of home education and work experience. Pam also is starting to co-ordinate our enrichment offer.

Pam brings a huge amount of experience where she has previously been Course Lead for Foundation Studies for 3 years at a local college and also ran ‘No Limits’ programme for the McIntyre Charity for 8 years. Pam holds a Post graduate in Autism & Aspergers as well as being PGCE qualified.

In her spare time Pam is an antique dealer and can often be seen at local antiques fayres.

Leah Crompton – Learning Support Practitioner & Designated Safeguarding Lead

Leah has gained both a Counselling diploma and Level 3 Coaching and Mentoring qualification and is hoping to utilise some of these skills when working with our young people. Leah is currently studying for her Level 3 Award in Education & Training and has completed her Level 3 Safeguarding qualification in order to take on some additional responsibilities here at Learn 2 Cornwall.

Leah is also a parent volunteer with the Autistic Society Cornwall and also runs a monthly support group for parents with autistic children which she thoroughly enjoys.

In addition to her counselling she also has a qualfication in sensory processing disorder as well as some makaton and will be continuing her CPD.

Adrian Murley – Learning Support Practitioner & Trainee Tutor

Adrian is an avid football fan and currently plays for St Buryan AFC as their goalkeeper. He also coaches children at both football and holiday sports camps which he has been doing for a few years.

Adrian has decided to train to become a teacher and is currently completing his Level 3 Award in Education & Training, so would like to gain more experience in the field of specialist education and is so excited to work with our amazing students.

Adrian has completed his safeguarding, prevent, first aid and positive behaviour support training and has a background in sports science.

Liz Duffy – Learning Support Practitioner

Liz is a keen 1950’s fan from music and dancing to fashion. She enjoys going to lindy bop dance classes and socialising with her friends.

Liz has many years experience within the field of care and support and as well as working with Learn 2 Cornwall is also a self-employed support worker and loves having variety every day.

Liz will mainly be supporting our student out on work experience as she can only spend 1 day a week with us due to her existing clients needs. A real gem of a lady.

Eve Lay – Learning Support Practitioner

Eve joins us for 1 day per week as a Learning Support Practitioner.

In addition to her work at Learn 2 Cornwall, Eve also is a delivery driver for a local pharmacy where she thoroughly enjoys meeting people and making sure they have their medication on time. Eve has a range of work experiences that she brings with her in areas such as retail and supported living. She has even been a bus driver!

Eve has completed all of her mandatory training but also brings with her both qualifications and experience in Positive Behaviour Support.

Shelley Bateman – Learning Support Practitioner

Shelley joins us for 2 days per week.

After working for many years in healthcare, both as a paramedic and mental health specialist, Shelley decided she would like to work in a sector where she can have maximum input into the lives of our young people.

Shelley has completed all of her mandatory training and is excited to see what our learners can achieve when out on work experience with her.

Outside of work Shelley is an active person enjoying many sports in order to maintain her general fitness.

Maddi Broome – Administrator

Maddi joins the team as our Administrator (yay, we eventually have some help with all the paperwork!). Maddi will be here 5 days per week and will help with all your enquiries.

Outside of Learn 2 Cornwall, Maddi works with a young boy with autism as his PA and has been supporting him for 5 years now and absolutely loves it. She is really excited about working with our young people and making sure we have everything we need in order to deliver the service that everyone has come to expect.

Maddi has a stationery obsession and has a background in fine art and so loves ceramics and fused glass and would love to have her own kiln one day.
