Kyrstie Mann -Managing Director

“After 12+ years of teaching and 3+ years of management within specialist education, I love working with the students and am so happy to be able to bring this provision to life.  As much as I love teaching, I now concentrate on the quality of provision as a whole, student experience and working to bring as much as possible to our setting. I want to enable our students to become as confident and independent as they can be”.

Kyrstie is PGCE qualified, holds a BA (Hons) degree in Business & Management, a Level 3 Assessors Award and Level 4 Quality Assurance qualification and has over 15 years experience in education. She is responsible for Curriculum development, Quality of Teaching, Learning & Assessment, Business Development and more. In addition is also Level 3 qualified in Safeguarding and as a result is the Deputy Safeguarding Lead.

Vikki Edge – Programme Manager, Tutor, Designated Safeguarding Lead

“After working for a local college for over 10 years, I am all about the students.  I will help and support them to do anything they want to do.  I don’t see any reason why everyone can’t try something new and am glad to be here to offer this. I teach lots of PSHE modules as well as Vocational and Independent Living which is crucial for Preparing for Adulthood”.

Vikki has a large breadth of experience to share with our students. She is a qualified hairdresser and nail technician. In addition to this, she has also worked in supported living environments, young people’s housing, drug and alcohol abuse and early mothers accommodation. Vikki holds a Level 5 Diploma in Teaching & Education and is Level 3 qualified learning support practitioner. Vikki is our Designated Safeguarding Lead and First Aider. She has also completed training in Epilepsy, Diabetes, Visual impairments after working with Exeter School for the Blind, Safeguarding and Prevent and is our Mental Health First Aider.

Pam Barber-Hickey – Work Experience Co-Ordinator & Compliance

Since leaving school Pam has spent nearly 40 years working in engineering and construction….firstly working in the drawing office starting as a Draughtsman then working as a CAD Co-Ordinator… after nearly 20 years Pam changed career direction into Health and Safety, to become a Health & Safety Manager working for many of the UKs mainstream construction companies of some of the most prestigious projects in recent years. During this time, she also became a Mental Health First Aider 

After spending many years coming down to Cornwall, Pam finally relocated last year and decided to embark on a new career direction and to finally get a dog…a little cocker spaniel pup called Rosie….who is just adorable don’t you think?.

Joining L2C, Pam is hoping to bring aspects of her previous experiences to her new role, including her favourite pastime of painting and art, whilst embracing the new challenge.

Vikki Jebbett – Senior Learning Support Practitioner

Vikki has an extensive background in supported living and learning support. She has experience in preparing for adulthood themes as well as challenging behaviour.

Vikki has completed all her mandatory training and is qualified in Positive Behaviour Support.

Liz Duffy – Learning Support Practitioner

Liz is a keen 1950’s fan from music and dancing to fashion. She enjoys going to lindy bop dance classes and socialising with her friends.

Liz has many years experience within the field of care and support and as well as working with Learn 2 Cornwall is also a self-employed support worker and loves having variety every day.

Liz will mainly be supporting our student out on work experience as she can only spend 1 day a week with us due to her existing clients needs. A real gem of a lady.

Jen Craft – Learning Support Practitioner & Trainee Creative Media Lead

Jen joins us after previously running her own business in the hospitality industry. She also has many years experience of working with young people with learning disabilities including within her own family.

Jen describes herself as a very caring and friendly person who is the calm to the fire and so offers a very nurturing yet supportive outlook to our students.

Jen has completed her safeguarding, prevent, first aid and positive behaviour support training and continues to use her catering experience by providing lunches to 60+ children during local holidays provisions.

Leah Crompton – Learning Support Practitioner & Wellbeing Lead

Leah is currently due to start her Level 5 Counselling degree and is hoping to utilise some of these skills when working with our young people.

Leah is also a parent volunteer with the Autistic Society Cornwall and also runs a monthly support group for parents with autistic children which she thoroughly enjoys.

In addition to her counselling she also has a qualfication in sensory processing disorder as well as some makaton and will be continuing her CPD.

Adrian Murley – Learning Support Practitioner & Trainee Tutor

Adrian is an avid football fan and currently plays for Pendeen Rovers as their goalkeeper. He also coaches children at both football and holiday sports camps which he has been doing for a few years.

Adrian has decided to train to become a teacher and so would like to gain more experience in the field of specialist education and is so excited to work with our amazing students.

Adrian has completed his safeguarding, prevent, first aid and positive behaviour support training and has a background in sports science.
