Kyrstie Mann – Managing Director

“After 12+ years of teaching and 5+ years of management within specialist education, I love working with the students and am so happy to be able to bring this provision to life.  As much as I love teaching, I now concentrate on the quality of provision as a whole, student experience and working to bring as much as possible to our setting. I want to enable our students to become as confident and independent as they can be”.

Kyrstie is PGCE qualified, holds a BA (Hons) degree in Business & Management, a Level 3 Assessors Award and Level 4 Quality Assurance qualification and has over 15 years experience in education. She is responsible for Curriculum development, Quality of Teaching, Learning & Assessment, Business Development and more. In addition she also possesses a Level 5 SEND Diploma but still learns something new from the students every day.

Mike Clarke – Business Operations Manager

Mike has recently been promoted after 18 months of working with us as Work Experience Co-Ordinator where he has built on our amazing relationships we currently have with employers as well as creating some new connections. We now work with a larger spectrum of employers.

Mike brings a huge amount of experience and knowledge to the team and has previously run his own training company as well as been a consultant for many others in the area.

Mike is a qualified teacher and is very much looking forward to getting stuck back into education but this time with different students. Mike can also be seen supporting our students too in order to ensure he sees first hand what they can achieve.

Joining L2C, Mike is so excited to see what changes can be made to encourage our learners to be the best they can be.

Karl Smith – Contracts & Compliance Manager

Karl joins us with a wealth of experience within the field of Education & Training. He has extensive knowledge within Compliance, Apprenticeships and Business Development and will be bringing all of these and more to this role. Being an ex serviceman for many years, Karl has a keen eye for details and opportunities that we can look into for our students in the future.

Karl is a keen sportsman and is often seen riding his bike, playing cricket and coaching football.

Lauren Pike – Office Manager

Lauren joins us from an extensive background in office management and human resources. She is CIPD qualified and thoroughly enjoys working with people.

Lauren is excited to be moving into the world of education and working with young people with learning disabilities.

Shelley Bateman

Programme Lead – Me 2, Behavioural Lead and First Aid Trainer

Shelley is a registered paramedic and mental health specialist who joined us 18 month ago. She has excelled at her role and has gained a promotion for academic year 25/26. Shelley will also be offering First Aid training to the community and local businesses.

Kaliea Durrant

Programme Lead Live & Work & Enrichment Co-Ordinator

Kaliea’s previous roles have included being curriculum lead for another post 16 provider. She also has experience teaching English and dance fitness as well as supporting young people at work.

Kaliea is happy to be able to return to support young people again.

Leah Crompton

Programme Lead Transition 2 Adulthood, Pastoral care & Designated Safeguarding Lead

Leah has been promoted this year, 25/26 to incorporate a much larger role after being with us for 2 years.

Leah is a qualified counsellor and teacher and will be taking up a full time role this year where she can do both roles.

Marney Williams

Subject Specialist – Maths

Marney has taken this role with us for 25/26 after covering earlier this year. a completely different way of teaching which really brings enjoyment to Maths (who knew?). Marney is also as qualified swimming teacher.

Marney enjoys spending time with her family and friends and is usually either at a dance show or shouting at the side of a pitch supporting her children.

Amber Davies

Programme Lead Steps 2, Deputy Safeguarding, Subject Specialist – Creative Media & Special Projects

Amber has extensive experience within the field of young people. She is a JNC qualified youth worker and teacher. She also possesses her Quality Assurance qualification and so will be supporting Kyrstie with this.

Amber is currently studying a PhD in education..

Sophie Walton

Subject Specialist – English

Sophie joins us after teaching English within a secondary school setting locally.

Sophie enjoys spending time with friends and family and is very creative. She is so happy to be part of the team at Learn 2 Cornwall.

Our Support Team…

Jodie James – LSP

Jodie joins us from a Penzance care and support team with adults with LD. She can’t wait to get to know our students.

Jodie enjoys the gym and spending time with her family.

Tracy Kessell – LSP

Tracy joins us from a Penzance care and support team with adults with LD just like Jodie. She can’t wait to put her experience of accessing the community into practice.

Tracy has a young family and enjoys keeping physically fit.

Aaron Green – Music Lead/LSP

Aaron joins us this year and is very much into heavy metal music which goes down a storm with our students. He is really excited to start building his experience in this field.

Aaron has also been teaching one of our students guitar upon request and has loved every minute of it.

Katherine Castle – Exceptional Programmes /LSP

Katherine is a practising artist and keen gardener. She has experience of working in education with young people who have struggled to remain in education.

Katherine cannot wait to meet our students and start supporting them to become as independent as possible.

Kathy Selby – LSP

After working in primary education for the past 19 years, Kathy has decided that it is time for a change. Kathy brings a vast amount of experience with challenging behaviour.

Emma Mills – Enterprise Lead/LSP

Emma has a vast amount of experience with primary education and alternative education and is excited to put her skills into use with post 16 learners.

Emma is also a swimming teaching and will be utilising her skills with our students too.

Natasha Trevaskis – LSP

Natasha is joining us after working for a national company providing support for young people both in a supported living environment as well as out in the community.

Chris Thomas – LSP

Chris has a background in supporting clients with drug and alcohol addiction. He is excited to work within the education industry to support young people in a different way.

Paul Hawken – LSP

Paul has previously spent 20 years within a post 16 college environment Initially starting in construction and then moving into job coaching.

In his spare time, Paul volunteers as Helston Railway as well spending lots of time on his allotment.

Charlotte Mann – Marketing Assistant

Charlotte joins us this year on a part time basis working alongside her college course in Creative Media. She will be working on our marketing and designs to help us stand out from the competition
